Apart from a few heavy frosts it has been a reasonably mild winter -so far. The flowers of herb-robert have remained in bloom and even a lone primrose was flowering protected by ivy and ferns. This dandelion had lost its yellow flower and seed head but the beauty of the bald open star has a beauty of its own.
